Where it started
A hostel competes with the booking platforms.
Before building its site I looked after its guests: from 2022 to 2024 I handled guest service and social media at the hostel. I knew what guests asked, because they asked me.
Travellers compare on the platforms and then look up the place’s own site to confirm. If that site cannot answer the basics, the booking stays on the platform. And many people who arrive in Cuenca do not speak Spanish.
The answer
Everything a guest asks, before they ask it.
Each room shows the nightly price, capacity, beds and whether breakfast is included, with its own booking button.
Check in, check out, cancellation, pets, children and payment have their own page.
A switch changes the whole site between Spanish and English.
